Pull up! Pull up!
After an overnight snow I looked out at the roof of our "barn" in the back yard and saw the strange imprints in the snow on the roof. There was no evidence of anything falling on the roof (no overhead trees or wires), so the only explanation I can come up with is a bird that was making too sharp a turn?

Its a branch that fell and rolled off the roof.
ice falling from the tree above the house!
Looks to me like a bird tried to land and slid instead on the high-pitched roof, hopping and sliding until it came down to the low-pitched eave.
I checked carefully for branches, etc. There are no limbs over the left side of the barn, and no power lines (and there was no wind that night)
